Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with Bitterroot Buzz Bees, LLC. Please review our shipping policy before placing your order.

Order Processing

Most in-stock orders are processed within 1–3 business days. During peak seasons, promotions, or holidays, processing times may be longer. Orders are shipped Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your order has shipped.

Shipping Carriers

We ship using UPS, USPS, and other qualified carriers depending on your location and the products ordered.

Shipping transit times provided by the carrier are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Live Bees

We do not ship package bees or nucleus colonies (nucs). All live bee packages and nucs are available for In-Store Pickup Only at our Stevensville, Montana location unless otherwise stated.

Customers are responsible for picking up live bees during their scheduled pickup window.

Queen Bees

Queen bees are considered live livestock.

The estimated ship date selected during checkout is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Queen availability depends on weather, mating conditions, supplier schedules, and the health of the queens.

Because queen bees are living animals, shipping dates may change without notice to ensure you receive a healthy queen.

Once available, queens are shipped via UPS Next Day Air whenever possible to minimize transit time.

Live Bee Shipping Delays

While we work closely with our suppliers to meet estimated ship dates, delays can occur due to factors beyond our control, including:

  • Weather conditions

  • Queen mating success

  • Supplier availability

  • Carrier disruptions

  • Other conditions affecting the health and safety of the bees

We will notify customers of significant delays whenever possible.

Perishable & Live Animal Orders

Due to the nature of live bees and queen bees:

  • Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.

  • Someone should be available to receive live bee shipments upon delivery.

  • We are not responsible for carrier delays once a shipment has been accepted by the shipping carrier.

Honey & Merchandise

Honey, beeswax products, beekeeping equipment, apparel, and other merchandise are shipped according to our normal processing times.

Please inspect your order upon arrival and contact us within 48 hours if your package arrives damaged.

Incorrect Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. We are not responsible for delays, additional shipping charges, or lost packages resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Lost or Delayed Packages

Once a package has been transferred to the shipping carrier, delivery is the responsibility of the carrier. If your shipment is delayed or lost, we will gladly assist you in filing a carrier claim when applicable.
